First Hair Cut- Snow Cute!

I finally did it, Alyssa's hair just had to be cut! It was hanging all the way down to her nose and she isn't a big fan of the hair clips I put to keep it out of the way.

On Tuesday night once she was cleaned up and in her pj's I put Aly in her booster seat and got out the scissors.
I have to say to try and cut a very busy 11 month old's hair is tricky but it turned out pretty good.
She really is Snow Cute!

I can't wait I'm hungry Now!

One morning I set Alyssa's breakfast on the table so that I could go and answer the door. When I came back I found her sitting in her booster seat with the bowl in her lap and her happily eating away. Here are some cute pics of our hungry monkey who will wait for no one.

My Buddy, My Friend

I couldn't resist taking this picture, how adorable!!
Aly is so lucky to have a friend that is always looking out for her and helping her every day.

Here is Aly and Teagan playing "peek-a-boo" with the dome tent. Even though there is a year in age difference they get along very well.

Tunnel O' Fun

Alyssa's friend that comes to our Dayhome brought her tunnel for us to play with last week. They both had so much fun and spent hours crawling through it, passing things to each other through it. And it was such a thrill for them to have the tunnel going from the front of play room into the little dome. The two of them are so funny to watch!

"What am I going to find at the end?"

"This is so much fun! Watch how fast I can go!"

Aly checking things out, "Hmmm, what am I suppose to do with this thing?"

First Steps!

Alyssa is standing next to her booster seat all ready for Easter dinner. See how sturdy she is? She prefers to be upright as much as possible now. Aly is so funny to watch because she'll push anything across the floor to get from point A to point B and not have to crawl.

I love this picture of Alyssa and I. Great Auntie Dorothy gave this very cuddly bear to Aly for Easter. Just before this picture was taken Grandma Eileen was sharing some of her chocolate egg with Alyssa, Aly turned to me and took a falling step in my direction and then from me stood on her own for a few seconds and took her first solid step towards Daddy.

A couple of days after we got home Aly took 3 solid steps toward Daddy, I was not impressed. Who am I kidding, of course I was but really I was getting gyped.

Well last Sunday while at Uncle Peter and Jenny's baby shower Aly took 4 solid steps towards me, which Daddy missed seeing so he questions the validity but there were witnesses!

I think Alyssa's main hurdle to overcome with her walking is that she wants to go too fast. I think we'll see a few more steps from her but she'll soon get the hang of it and she'll be off and running!

Bunny Ears!

Can this kid get any cuter?!?!? The idea was stolen, I admit it. Carley's adorable Easter pics of Olivia made me want to find a pair of Bunny Ears for Alyssa. We found them when we stopped in Moose Jaw at the Walmart to walk off some energy. Woohoo! We were so excited, and they were only $1.50! I had also bought some cute flower hair clips for Alyssa. Her hair is so long its down to her nose and i'm always on the look out for cute hair accessories for her. I'm holding off on cutting her hair, she'll look so grown up if I do. I don't want her to be a toddler yet.

Daddy and Alyssa on Easter morning. Daddy thought Aly's Ears were cool, so he had to try them on.

Can you imagine how embarrassed Alyssa will be when she grows up and her friends see this pic.

Just know Aly that your parents will always be kids at heart. And i'm sure you'll be an pro at rolling your eyeballs when we do silly stuff.

Alyssa's Egg Hunt

Alyssa did a great job of tracking down all the Easter eggs that the bunny left for her around Great Grandma and Grandpa's apartment. She had endless entertainment putting things into the basket and then taking them out and tossing them around the room.
Alyssa trying to put some of the eggs she had found in the basket.

Here is a picture of the goodies in Aly's "Easter basket"

Mommy thought the Easter bunny was so clever to know that Alyssa thought Great Grandma Clara's walker was the funnest thing to play with and decided to leave Alyssa's Easter goodies inside.

There was a very soft white bunny rabbit, and a shirt that says "Me and My Peeps" with a picture of little chickies on it. Inside the small eggs were some animal crackers for Aly and some hershey chocolate kisses for Mommy and Daddy. In the large eggs were some "little people" figureines- two bunnies, a chicken, a little girl and two kids dressed in bunny costumes.

Road Trip- Estevan Saskatchewan

For Alyssa's First Easter we headed on a road trip to Estevan Saskatchewan. That is were Travis' Grandparents and a good many of his other relatives live. The drive normally takes around 8-9 hours but with a very active and busy 10 month old it took a couple extra hours. When we stopped I made sure that our little busy bee had plenty of time and space to walk around so that she could get tired and have a little sleep once back in the van.
Alyssa was a trooper, she did extreamly well for all those hours she was couped up. But of course a big trip and a new environment had her out of her normal routine. Our Aly who is usually in bed by 7pm and angry if she isn't was a total party animal! The Friday we arrived she stayed up until 12:30am! AND was still trying to play peek-a-boo with Travis and I while we tried to calm her down and get her to sleep. Saturday she was cooperative and went to bed not too long after 8pm but then Easter Sunday she decided she had to stay up late again and didn't get to sleep until after 10pm. Mommy was exhausted!
We all had a very nice time visiting will all of the relatives and celebrating Alyssa's First Easter and Great Grandpa Jake (90 at the end of this month) and Great Grandma Clara's (85 in May) birthdays.

Animal Crackers

Here are some pictures from another play date with Aly and Drake. As you can see Drake has surpassed Alyssa in height and weight and he's 3 months younger! Poor Aly, you'll never be a basketball star, oh well, you're way cute and I know you'll find a sport you'll love.
Alyssa loves Animal Crackers so i'm not sure if the pic on the bottom is of her trying to show Drake he should be eating it or if she's trying to take it from him. I'm thinking my perfect daughter was just helping Drake remember to eat it since there were no tears and everyone continued to happily munch away their crackers.

Splish Splash

Here is our little Fishy in the bath tub. Alyssa has always enjoyed bath time. She is so funny, never a dull moment with her around.

Mmmm Chocolate Cake!

Alyssa had her very first piece of Chocolate Cake this past Sunday. We got together for a very late celebration for Uncle Dax's birthday. The cake is of course gluten free and Aly devoured it! I think we have a chocoholic in the making.
