Daddy's Little Girl

Since Travis and Aly spent last weekend together I thought I'd post a sweet picture of the two of them when she was only 5 days old.

This pic was taken by Jenny of course.

The Face of a Girl....

who's Mother just had told her that she was leaving Daddy in charge for 2 whole days and a night.

Doesn't she look a bit stunned? Kinda like- "Mama I don't know what you're saying"

This past weekend I went up to Edmonton for my friend Amanda's stagette. There were 5 of us and the weekend was a whole bunch of fun! Once I get some of the pictures i'll post a few :)

Travis and Alyssa had a very good weekend together even though she was a little out of sorts. But it was nice that Daddy got a taste of those middle of the night wake-ups. Up until the weekend she had been back to sleeping through the night, much to my absolute delight! Aly is pretty much back to her regular routine and sleeping schedule, it helps that her little buddy is here everyday.

All Dressed Up

Here is my adorable daughter all dressed up
for the first birthday party that she attended.
Dany and Joanna's little girl Sylviane turned 2 a week and a half ago.

I picked up this dress at Children's place just before Christmas- it was only $13. The plastic barrettes are the same style I can remember having when I was little so I just had to get them. And our other friend Joanna had bought Alyssa some awesome blue runners that now fit and matched everything. This kid is better dressed then her parents!

Alyssa looks a little scared in the second picture,
I had to use the flash since I didn't have as much
light as I wanted in her bedroom.

10 Months Old

Happy First Day of Spring Everyone! It sure didn't look like Spring outside this morning- Snow everywhere! But by the afternoon it had melted away, we are hoping that the coming weeks will be better because we LOVE being outside!
Today Alyssa is 10 months old. As i've said a million times before time has just flown by!
Here is a beautiful pic of Aly at 5 days old. This was taken by Jenny the first time her and Uncle Peter got to meet Alyssa.

"Dada"

It is Aly's official first word. It happened last Thursday, we heard it but weren't sure she actually knew what she was saying. Then she said it again "Dada" looked up at Travis and crawled toward him.
Of course i'm slightly crushed and Travis is doing the victory dance. Alyssa thinks its a funny game we play now. I start saying "Mama, Mama, Mama" and she says "Dada, Dada, Dada" *Sigh* Oh well, I guess I just have to hope she'll take her first steps with me.
I got this picture at the perfect time because she is actually saying "Dada" here, I was still trying to persuade her that Mama should be her second word. Travis and I joke that it'll be something like Achilles and she'll say it with perfect clarity. So it goes.
There seems to be a strong Daddy theme in the Chronicals as of late. I think I need to get in front of the camera a little more. We'll see what we can do :)

I spy...

with my little eye......

Alyssa just loves peeking out the windows, she's taken over Achilles'spot at the front door. Its the perfect place for her to watch all the kids walking by, she gets so excited and bangs on the window when she sees Daddy coming home from work.

I play the eye spy game with her and will describe all the things I see out the window. It is amazing how much she understands because I can see her looking for the things I talk about.

Blueberry Muffins

Alyssa didn't help much while making the blueberry muffins but she certainly enjoyed eating them. I bought a mini muffin tin, which is the perfect size for toddlers. So far we've made a batch of banana and a batch of blueberry, maybe next week we'll try carrot. I just have them in the freezer and pull out a few at a time for snack. If Alyssa spots them she gets so excited, she loves being able to feed herself.

Up and Running...

We are officially a regulated Day Home. I've been caring for one other girl who is almost 2 for a couple of weeks now. Here is a very cute pic of the two of them reading books.
Our days go by very quickly there is a flurry of activity throughout the morning and after lunch the girls usually nap for 2hrs! Woohoo! Aly was never much of a sleeper during the day but has for the most part cut out her morning nap and sleeps longer in the afternoon.
I'm looking for one other child under 3yrs old full time and then that'll be all we have for now.

Family Picture

It is our most recent Family Picture. Again from last weekend here we all are after the karate tourny. You wouldn't know it to look at us but we were all sick, its been a rough week but all of us are finally starting to feel better.

Gold in Kumite

Last Saturday was the Karate Provincials and Travis had a fantastic day! Here he is with Alyssa who is sporting his Gold Medal- WooHoo Daddy!! You can't really see it in this picture but Travis has the beginnings of a nice shiner, compliments of Conn. It is just now starting to turn yellow and fade away, I don't know even with the bruise that Trav is dangerously sexy!

Baby Roo

Here is Alyssa hangin' out in her stoller last Saturday at the karate competition. It was getting close to her afternoon nap so she looks a little spacey. The adorable hoodie she has on is from Grandpa Ken who brought it back from Australia last summer.

Isn't this the frickin' cutest pic of Aly and Travis?! I laughed so hard when I saw this, where does that little girl get her attitude? HeHe.
I was going to title this "Who Are You Callin' Short?!", but then I thought of "I Said I WANT A PONY!" and both times I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. So i'll leave it up to you the family and friends to decide which you think best suits.
This pic was taken by Aly's Grandma Eileen when Daddy took her over for a visit after a doctor's check-up a couple of weeks ago.

Watching the World Pass By.....

Here is Alyssa standing on her basket of books so that she can see out the playroom window.
She really enjoys watching all the things that go on outside in our neighbourhood.
I took these photos last night because surprise! after a whole week of beautiful weather it started to snow. And Wow! did it ever snow. Alyssa spent 10 minutes watching the gigantic flakes fall, after she finished at this window she went to the one at the front door and watched some more. We've been out to the park everyday, I hope she won't be too disappointed that today we're staying inside.
